I finished watching the rush videos and I am much comfortable with the process now and it helped a lot with clarifying how to prep for rush and going to the events, and avoiding looking like a squid.
Thank you for your help. I will add that an important benefit was him having you to consult and guide. Your advice was better informed than his parents could have offered and he was able to exercise some agency, meaning that he'll see this as his decision because it was. He can be proud of that.
